Well I have googled creative commons and searched for images unfortunately when I paste the URL into the box in my blog a message comes up that the URL is wrong. Yet when I paste the URL into the google box on any PC the image comes up so once again I am still fiddling about with it.
So I have downloaded a Banksy image as I know they are FREE (or so I thought) so I should be safe there.
And now for an uploaded downloaded image
BANKSY
BREAKING NEWS
Now after hastily publishing THING 8 and 9 prior to some annual leave, a weekend and a bank holiday I had a panic attack about what I had written and the image I had downloaded.
You see I know I read somewhere that Banksy wasn't concerned about copyright which is understandable as his images deface (or improve in some cases) properties around the world, he would not want any unwanted attention as to his person due to criminal damage charges. I don't really know what I am talking about but it sounds okay to me and I am trying to justify my use of a BANKSY image.
I had a look in his book Wall and Piece (2005) ISBN 978-1-84413786-2
I had a look on his official website
http://www.banksy.co.uk/
I searched the web for Banksy/copyright info
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banksy
All of which I have done in the past and I am dead sure that there was NO copyright on BANKSY. However the nearest thing I can get to FREE now is the official website, if that truly is what it is (how can I be sure?) Images can be used for personal use and I am personally using it so that should be alright then.
