Thing10,11 & 12:Twitter and LinkedIn

Okay I have set up accounts with Twitter and LinkedIn.
The problem is I can't get back into LinkedIn as I can't remember my password.
You see the THING is, in my haste I didn't write anything down (well I'm not supposed to am I )
I have remembered my Twitter one no problem  it's just LinkedIn and yes I have clicked on the forgotten your password link on more than one occasion.
The THING is everything needs a password doesn't it and you don't want to use the same one  for everything do you. Anyway when I submit my email address for varification they tell me it is already being used by someone else (Yes ME!!) and  when I do a name search for myself well you wouldn't believe how many of me there are(all over the world)
I think from a work perspective LinkedIn looks like it is probably a good one to be a member of.
I am (if I can recall correctly) following The British library, The Library of congress, City Uni library,  At your library and seussisms on Twitter.

On to the next THING

Thing 9

Okay thanks to For Your I.A.s Only I have been able to apply this picture from flickr to my BLOG.
I chose this picture because it matched my page, think of it as a cushion or a throw.

I did want to add it to the design of my page rather than just plonk it onto the page as a THING, still never mind perhaps I will discover somehow by chance how to do it at some later THING.

Thing 8

Well I have googled creative commons and searched for images unfortunately when I paste the URL into the box in my blog a message comes up that the URL is wrong. Yet when I paste the URL into the google box on any PC the image comes up so once again I am still fiddling about with it.

So I have downloaded a Banksy image as I know they are FREE (or so I thought) so I should be safe there.

And now for an uploaded downloaded image
                                                                         BANKSY

BREAKING NEWS

Now after hastily publishing THING 8 and 9 prior to some annual leave, a weekend and a bank holiday I had a panic attack about what I had written and the image I had downloaded.
You see I know I read somewhere that Banksy wasn't concerned about copyright which is understandable as his images deface (or improve in some cases) properties around the world, he would not want any unwanted attention as to his person due to criminal damage charges. I don't really know what I am talking about but it sounds okay to me and I am trying to justify my use of a BANKSY image.
I had a look in his book Wall and Piece (2005) ISBN 978-1-84413786-2
I had a look on his official website http://www.banksy.co.uk/
I searched the web for Banksy/copyright info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banksy
All of which I have done in the past and I am dead sure that there was NO copyright on BANKSY. However the nearest thing I can get to FREE now is the official website, if that truly is what it is (how can I be sure?) Images can be used for personal use and I am personally using it so that should be alright then.

Thing 6.1, Thing 7.1 RSS

The THING is, I am spending loads of time playing around with this and whilst I feel I am learning something new I feel very conscious that maybe I should be spending my time doing something else....... although when I think about it I am not sure what exactly at least while I’m on the desk and it’s quiet.
If anyone notices me at anytime staring blankly at the PC screen on the service desk or neglecting my desk duties please let me know.
I feel like a child hooked onto one of those computer games and let nothing get in my way until I have conquered the THING.
The THING is I have been looking at this from the outside in. Yes I have managed to set up some RSS feeds with the Google reader it is the public image of my blog that I am concerned with I keep thinking I should be able to view all the stuff on my blog from the pretty side, my creative side and not the hidden workings of Google. I have been wasting my time trying to make my applications viewable on the public side and I don't think it is possible. Well I suppose viewers shouldn't be able to see my stuff should they but I find backstage at Google a bit mundane.

Thing 6, Thing 7: RSSSSSSSSSSSS

Phew!
I have been taken to the depths of google a place I never knew existed I found myself lost in a mass of information overload which didn't mean a thing to me.
I had so many tabs open I couldn't remember what I was looking for in the first place and had to keep re-referring to 23 things City to jog my memory.
It was the RSS THING that I was trying to get to grips with and still am!
I have managed to apply some pages to my blog and give them tabs. I have also had another play around with colours and fonts, I am getting there BUT for now I am moving on to the next THING otherwise I will never catch up.

Thing 4, Thing 5: iGoogle

Welcome to my iGoogle page

Well I managed to create my own page and since adding the screen shot I have moved a few of my gadgets around. I didn't really find anything exciting to add to my page most stuff has been selected at random just to get the THING done.
It seemed simple enough to set up although I haven't managed to save it as my home page yet and I would like to explore other gadgets to add to it.
